The person behind the perspective

A career in real estate.
A few different vantage points.

I’ve been a developer, an owner, a lender, a borrower, and an attorney. Each role has shaped how I approach the next opportunity.

My roots are in real estate.

I began my career in real estate brokerage in 1990, specializing in investment properties. Along the way, I invested in multifamily properties and took development projects from concepts through approvals, acquisition, and construction.

My work has included apartment properties, subdivisions, and mixed-use development. I understand the decisions that come with putting a project together—and the responsibility of owning it afterward.

Law added another perspective.

After my admission to the Idaho Bar in 1998, I founded and managed a law firm with a strong focus on the real estate industry. My legal career included business matters, real estate disputes, and trials in state and federal court.

I left the firm I founded in 2021. Today, most of my time goes to real estate development and asset management. I’m interested in the right opportunities to participate as a principal.

I consider opportunities from prime properties to distressed assets, and I enjoy sorting through complicated legal issues when they’re part of a real estate project.

Relationships still matter.

I benefited from mentors and colleagues throughout my career. I enjoy giving back, including helping people connect with active lawyers and think through the questions and information that can make an initial meeting more useful.

I’m not taking on new legal clients, but referral calls are welcome. I don’t charge for referrals or receive referral fees.

to a deal, I close.”
